CITYLab

Urban design, civic thinking, and community problem-solving. Youth examine real challenges facing Newburgh and use design tools to propose and present solutions — developing both empathy and advocacy skills.

Junior Coding Lab

Introductory programming using block-based and text-based tools including Scratch and Python. Builds logical thinking, sequencing skills, and creative expression through code. Great for first-time coders.

Game design, level building, character development, and interactive storytelling. Students learn the mechanics behind their favorite games — and make their own. Covers narrative, UI, and basic game physics.

Lego-Based Print Making

A hands-on printmaking studio where youth use LEGO bricks as custom stamps and design tools. Students build their own printing blocks, apply ink, and press original patterns onto paper and fabric — exploring color, repetition, and composition. Every session produces a finished piece to take home.

FIRST LEGO League

Our competitive robotics team. Students choose a real-world problem, conduct research, build and program a LEGO robot, and compete in regional tournaments. Develops teamwork, presentation, and engineering skills.

FIRST Tech Challenge

The next level of competitive robotics. FTC students design, build, and program custom robots entirely from scratch using Java or Blocks, then compete in regional and state tournaments. For students ready to go deeper into engineering and software.

Spring Robotics & FLL Skills Lab

A 14-week after-school robotics program using LEGO SPIKE Prime. Students build foundational engineering, coding, and teamwork skills through hands-on projects and fun builds — while preparing for FIRST LEGO League competition. Thursdays, 4:30–6:30 PM.

All programs are open to youth ages 7–14 in the Hudson Valley. Enrollment is managed through AfterSchoolHQ, where you can view current schedules, availability, and session dates.

Scholarships and free enrollment options are available. No young person is turned away due to cost — contact us and we'll work something out.
